Published in 1902, The Expert at the Card Table is a legendary book on sleight-of-hand with cards; yet, the author’s name and background remain shrouded in mystery.  In short, no one really knows the true identity of S.W. Erdnase.  These decks are a homage to the enduring mystery and legacy of this book and its author.

The Maverick and limited edition decks have been printed by Clove St. Press on matte vellum stock with two hot-stamped foils and strategic embossing to highlight the beautiful details of the design.  The cigar-style tucks of the private reserve decks have also been printed on premium matte stock, and both gilded decks feature a pearlescent shimmer to easily distinguish them from the standard editions.

The card themselves have been printed by the USPCC on premium crushed stock and feature entirely custom artwork.  Everything from the court cards to the pips to the jokers to the back design elegantly evokes the the feeling of turn-of-the-century America.  The gilded Maverick and private reserve cards both come with luscious gold edges for a speciall touch of luxury.
